Professor Som Naidu is former Pro Vice-Chancellor (Flexible Learning), and Director of the Centre for Flexible Learning at the University of the South Pacific, and currently Principal Associate of Technology, Education and Design Associates—a Melbourne based educational technology consultancy service.

Prof. Mrs. Goski Alabi is a Full Professor and one of Africa’s leading experts in Quality Management and Leadership, and Co-Founder and President of Laweh University College, Accra. Prof. Mrs. Alabi is an academic, a consultant and an accomplished entrepreneur and author with more than 15 years of professional experience in academia, consultancy, regulation, advocacy and business.

Lexi Adams is a Senior Instructional Teaching and Learning Specialist at Carnegie Mellon University Africa. She holds a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition from Carnegie Mellon University, a MAT in Foreign Language Education, and double BA in Linguistics and Hispanic Languages and Literature from the University of Pittsburgh. Her area of expertise lies in classroom discourse, multilingual education, evidence-based pedagogy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Christine Iyetunde Ofulue is a Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics, Foreign and Nigerian Languages, Faculty of Arts, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). She is the Director of the Regional Training and Research Institute for Distance and Open Learning (RETRIDOL) and also the Director of the African Council for Distance Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (ACDE QAAA) both hosted at NOUN.

Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola

Professor Folasade Ogunsola, is the 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos and first female to occupy that position. She was the pioneer Deputy Vice Chancellor Development services where she was charged to oversee and develop the University”s internationalization, Innovation and Entrepreneurship as well as its Strategic partnerships.

She was the13th and first female Provost of its College of Medicine and First Female Chairman of the Association of Provosts of Colleges of Medicine, Nigeria. She is a medical Doctor, a Professor of Medical Microbiology and Consultant Clinical Microbiologist to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital,
Professor Folasade Ogunsola graduated from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) as a medical doctor in 1982.

Between 1982-1983 she did her housemanship at both the University College Hospital and Lagos University Teaching Hospital. After Youth service with Lagos state in 1984, she worked as a private practitioner till 1989 when she went back to school and obtained an MSc with distinction in Medical Microbiology in 1990 from the University of Lagos, College of Medicine.

In 1990 she started her residency programme in Pathology at the Lagos University Teaching hospital subspecialising in Medical Microbiology becoming a fellow by examination of the Nigerian National Postgraduate Medical College in Pathology (FMCPath) and the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) (Lab Medicine).

She later also obtained a PhD in Medical Microbiology from the University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff. She is also a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists UK (FRCPath), a Fellow of the Nigeria Academy of Science (FAS) and a foundation fellow of both the National Academy of Medicine and Academy of Medical Specialties.

Her research interest has centered on the diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance. Her research into infection prevention started in the area of anaerobic bacteriology which led her into the field of HIV epidemiology and prevention She was the Site principlal Investigator for community-based efforts to prevent HIV, Tuberculosis and sexualy transmitted diseases in Lagos slums from 2003-06 in collaboration with the AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN) program of Harvarrd school of Public health.

This collaboration with Harvard school of public health led to other studies and programs. Notable Among several grants she attracted to the University is the B.R.A.I.N.S (Building Research and Innovations in Nigeria’s Science), a five year NIH funded grant (2015-2020) in collaboration with Chang School of public health of Harvard University and North Western University in the United States of America.

Through the B.R.A.I.N.S there was capacity building of several faculty and administrators through trainings and research in the University.
Within the university she has served on many committees and Boards as Chair of the entrepreneurship, skills development board, Chairman Board of Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu (KAAF) Maternity and Laboratory center as well as Academic Publishing Centre (Southwest Zone) amongst others. She is a three time member of the University of Lagos council.

Nationally she serves on a number of technical committees and boards, she is a Member of the Nigerian Expert Review Committee for the eradication of Polio, Chairperson National Infection Prevention Control Policy review committee at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Member of the Governing Council of the Lagos State Biobank. She is also on the board of Iwosan a private medical advisory board.

Internatiionally she was a member Peer Review panel of the Joint Programme Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR) -a global collaborative organisation and platform involving 29 countries in Europe USA. She has worked at different times with the World Health Organisation since 2003 as an infection control expert.

She is presently a member World Health Organisation Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on Infectious Hazards with Pandemic and Epidemic Potential (STAG-IH), Chair of the World Health Organisation Ebola Infection prevention and control Guideline Development Group (GDG)and a Member World Health Organisation, Technical Advisory Group on Hand Hygiene.

Professor Ogunsola has published over 150 papers in peer reviewed national and international journals, has presented papers at over 100 conferences, workshops and seminars. She has attracted over 21 research grants worth over $20million to her University. She reviews for and serves on the Editorial board of 13 national and international peer reviewed scientific journals including the American Journal of Infection Control.

She is a highly cited researchers with an H-index of 23 and has been cited more than 2232 times since 2017
Professor Folasade Ogunsola is a member of various professional associations some of which include: European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious diseases, American Society for Microbiology, Medical Women's Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Medical Association, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria., She is currently the Chair of the Infection Control Africa Network (ICAN) with head office in South Africa.

Professor Ogunsola has also impacted her community positively. She is a member of the Mentors forum where she mentors young physicians, she is the Chairman board of EpidAlert: a community- based NGO focused on Communication of epidemics and disasters at grass-root level and a Member of the Governing Council of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for girls.

She loves classical music especially those by Handel, Mozart and Beethoven. She is an avid reader with special interest in biographies. She loves to travel and is happily married with Children and grandchildren.

PROFESSOR RISIKAT OLADOYIN DAUDA

Professor Risikat Dauda holds a M.Sc. degree with distinction in Economics from Kharkov Institute of Engineering and Economics (now known as Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics), Kharkov, Ukraine in 1993 and a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Kharkov State University (now known as V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University), Kharkov, Ukraine in 1996 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at the University of Lagos in 2012. She has served the Department of Economics and Faculty of Social Sciences in particular and University of Lagos as a whole in various capacities. She has been an active member of several committees.

She was the pioneer Deputy Director (Media Services and Course Materials Development), Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos from 2014-2016 where she was responsible for the management of course text writing and production; distribution of course text materials, study guides and study packs; coordination of library activities and study aids; coordination of all online lectures; coordination of students’ and lecturers’ support programmes among others.

She was the first female Head of the Department of Economics, University of Lagos and served between August 1, 2017 – July 31, 2020. She was an elected representative of Senate to the Medical Centre Management Board between 2016 - 2020 and Courts of Governors, College of Medicine, University of Lagos between 2018 - 2020. She is a member of the Board of the Institute of Maritime Studies, University of Lagos.

Her major research interests focused on Development Economics, particularly economic analysis of human resources, poverty and income distribution, human development, economics of education/health and human capital, gender studies and development finance. She is an accomplished scholar with over eighty (80) peer-reviewed articles in learned Journals and chapters in reviewed books nationally and internationally. She is a reviewer and editorial board member of some notable Journals. She has presented research papers in learned conferences/workshops within the country and abroad on development economics and seeks to practice economic theory with applications, searching explanation of the issues of low human dignity, inequality and other features of underdevelopment and exploring interventions for boosting human development across life cycle.

She has participated in several development projects. She has been an External Examiner to many tertiary institutions. Also, she has assessed and examined M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. dissertations/theses of many postgraduate students in many tertiary institutions within the country and abroad. She has also acted as an assessor for appointments and promotions of both Professorial and non-Professorial candidates in many institutions. She has a wealth of experience in teaching, research and consultancy on issues of African development. She had served as a Resource Person/Consultant in many fora.

Professor Risikat Dauda has received a number of awards and earned recognitions. She had received travel grants by Partnership for African Social & Governance Research (PASGR) to Nairobi (Kenya) in 2014, 2015, 2018 and Dar es Salam (Tanzania) in 2017; Regional Training & Research Institute for Open & Distance Learning (RETRIDOL) to Accra (Ghana) in 2015; Female Academic Leadership Network for Conscious Engineering and Science towards Sustainable Urbanization (FALCONESS) in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research to Accra (Ghana) in 2021 and Berlin (Germany) in 2021.

She is a result-oriented academic with great leadership qualities who has a keen interest in fostering linkages in form of bringing town to gown and taking gown to town to promote teaching, research and community services. She has served as a Senior Faculty Member in the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) Non-Residential Fellowship Programmme between 2021-2023. She was a member of the Advocacy and Public Sector Committee of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) between 2017-2019. She has been serving as a member of the Economics and Statistics Committee of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) since 2019 till date.

Internationally, she served as a mentor at the inaugural Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) peer mentoring breakfast meeting for mid-career economists held at the 2015 Allied of Social Sciences Association Meeting (ASSA) meeting in Boston, United States of America. She is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Health Economics Working Group at the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Global Surgery, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. She is also currently serving as a member of the EQUI-Injury Scientific Advisory Group on the research project titled “NIHR Global Health Group on Equitable Access to Quality Health Care for Injured People in Four Low- or Middle-Income Countries: Equi-injury, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. She is currently serving as a Jury member in the World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC) Young Academic Award Competition 2024.

She is a member of many professional organisations amongst which are: Nigerian Economic Society (NES), International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE), and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

Prof. Olumide Babatope Longe

Professor Olumide Babatope Longe holds a PhD degree in Computer Science (Information Systems Security Specialization) from the University of Benin, Benin City Nigeria; a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria, a BSc in Computing from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria and National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. Professor Longe Olumide also holds several certifications in Cyber Security, Education and in particular a Certificate from HavardX for successfully completing US Public Policy: Social, Economic and Foreign Policy. A recipient of the US National Interest Waiver Permanent Resident status, he is an alumnus MacArthur Scholar and an alumnus MIT Scholar. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright SIR Fellowship to the United States of America and the highly coveted Heidelberg Nobel Laureate Forum Fellowship in Germany. He is Seasoned in conceiving management information systems theories (evidenced by scholastic publications), and initiatives in ICT diffusion, innovation and uptake. Prof. Longe has been named by Microsoft research as one of the leading experts on privacy and information systems security research in Africa.

He has held administrative positions which include Head of Department/Chair, Dean of Students, Dean of Business School, Deputy Dean of the Postgraduate College, Director of ICT, Director of JUPEB Programme and a Member of Council of University. He was recently nominated as the Co-ordinator of the IEEE Area 6 under Region 8. He was also recently appointed into the Project/Programme Implementation Committee of the proposed University of Professional Studies, Igbajo Ijesha Nigeria. He was the Interim Dean of the School of IT and Computing at the American University of Nigeria, Yola and the substantive Head of Department of Information Systems. He assumed duties as the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Computational Sciences & Informatics and Head of Department, joining Academic City University College, Accra, Ghana in 2023 where he continued to function until being appointed as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Nigeria’s first approved private open University – The West Midlands Open University, Lagos, Nigeria.

Prof. Olumide advocates for discipline, collaboration and resilience as ingredients that can assist in achieving set goals. He epitomizes selflessness, kindness, goodness, large-heartedness, collaboration, meekness and humility and asserts that with determination and commitment set objectives are achievable. Professor Longe believed that though being very fast and agile can be a barrier to being patient, it is very important to make very conscious and deliberate efforts to slow down enough for others to follow. Leading when no one is following simply means you are taking a stroll. Professor Olumide is married with Children.

Professor Monioluwa Omolara Olaniyi

Professor Monioluwa Omolara Olaniyi is the pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Technology, Innovation and Research at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Prior to this role, she held numerous positions within the University including member of the University Senate, member of the Governing Council of the University, Dean, Head of Department, Head of Unit, and pioneer Director of one of the largest Study Centres of the University in Nigeria (at Mushin, Lagos). In this role, Olaniyi put up an enduring structure, which formed a bedrock of it becoming one of the top 10 of the 114 Study Centres of the University in Nigeria.

As the first female and elected Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the University, she embarked on initiatives that resulted in changes that improved the lives of all academics within the university at large. She obtained the university Senate’s approval of a six-regional laboratory for the programmes in the faculty. In the interim, she commenced the regional mobile science laboratory exercise, which was executed in one centre across each of the six regional locations in the country. Based on students’ feedback, she recommended and designed a plan for an expanded 13-centre exercise across the six regions, which has subsequently been executed by successive Deans. She guided Departments in her Faculty to successful accreditation of their academic programmes by the National Universities Commission. She led her faculty to set the pace in academic and research development and community service including the annual exhibition of science, technology and innovation in Nigeria (tagged EXPO’), raising awareness of open and distance learning in the neighbouring communities and partnering with government Ministries and parastatals on environmental matters, particularly leading the faculty of sciences in the annual world environment day commemoration.

Professor Olaniyi served on the committees that prepared the contents and wrote the Strategic Plan, “Road map 2013-2017” and 2017-2022, also, the Academic Brief of the National Open University of Nigeria. The 2013-2017 Strategic Plan Document was critical as it laid out a path that would restructure the workings of the Open University in Nigeria and Africa. Through all her roles, Professor Olaniyi has established a legacy of enduring academic culture and strengthened the teaching, learning and operations of the National Open University of Nigeria.

As the Senior Management contact of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU’s) Partnership for Enhanced and Blended Learning (PEBL) West Africa project, Monioluwa Olaniyi leads the NOUN team as a technical partner on the project which trains selected staff from universities in Ghana and Nigeria on online facilitation and the use of Learning Management Systems. She is actively involved in policy research to improve on and develop a bespoke NOUN model of content delivery, through a data-driven process. She currently leads a NOUN Senate research team and also serves on another as a team member.

Monioluwa Omolara Olaniyi is a Professor of Nematology. She earned a doctorate degree in Applied Biological Sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven (KULeuven), an MSc. Nematology (Biology), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Biosafety of Plant Biotechnology from the University of Ghent (UG), Belgium. Prior to these programmes, she earned MSc. Agricultural Biology from the University of Ibadan, and Bachelor of Technology (BTech.) Crop Production from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in Nigeria. She was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Bonn, Germany, a Research Fellow at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and she was a Lecturer at the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Olaniyi strengthened her IT skills with CompTIA A+ certification and she is also an Oracle Certified SQL Expert. She acquired training and expertise in the Management of Higher Education Institutions at the International Deans’ Course Africa coordinated by a consortium of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Centre for Higher Education (CHE), Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation, and the University of Osnabrück, Germany and has subsequently served as a resource person on the programme. She was a recipient of scholarship and fellowship awards for her academic training and has international research and travel grants to conferences to her credit. She has published her research results in international professional journals, books, and as technical reports. She believes in lifelong learning and updates herself through regular professional development training. Her philosophy is entrenched in inclusivity in capacity building for strategic development.
