Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes which will be offered through Open and Distance Learning mode.

2.0          GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

                The following candidates are eligible to apply:

2.1          Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by Senate with Degrees in relevant disciplines.

2.2          Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in      Education (NCE) in the relevant disciplines.

2.3          Holders of recognised relevant full professional qualifications particularly ACA, ANAN, ACCA,      ACMA, ACIA, ACIS, ACIB and CII may be considered for admission at the enhanced level provided they have five credits at WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two (2) relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

2.4          Holders of WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent with credit in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics plus any other three (3) relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

NOTE:   (a) Point of entry for candidates in categories 2.1 to 2.3 will depend on details of their transcripts and such candidates must also satisfy the WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent as stated in 2.4 above.

(b) Applicants are to ensure all examination numbers and certificates of WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO “O” Level or its equivalent are inputted and uploaded on the portal.

(c) Applicants into year two (2) and year (3) presenting post “O” Level qualifications such as Degrees, HND, NCE, OND and professional qualifications are to send in their Academic Transcripts through the awarding institutions with application number as reference number to:

3.0         NEW ENHANCED ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    2 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines such as Actuarial Science, Banking and Finance, Business Administration/Management, Economics, Financial Studies, Insurance Marketing and Taxation excluding holders of degrees in Accounting subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) ICAN Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS III) subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower credit in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Banking and Finance, Business Administration/Management, Economics, Insurance, Taxation, Financial Studies and Marketing subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Accounting Education and Financial Education subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(e) GCE ‘A’ Level with credit grades in Economics and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Accounting, Business Management, Geography and Government subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(f) The JUPEB/IJMBE certificate with appropriate credit points in Economics and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Accounting, Business Management, Geography and Government subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

(b) The Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower credit in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Banking and Finance, Business Administration/Management, Economics, Financial Studies Insurance and Taxation subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) Full Professional qualifications in ACA, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, ACIA, and ACIB subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

(b) National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower credit in relevant disciplines such as Business Administration, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Cooperative Economic Management, Economics, Estate Management,   Employment Relations and Human Resource Management, Financial Studies, Insurance, Marketing, Marine Transportation and Business Studies, Mass Communication, Office Technology and Management, Purchasing and Supply, Taxation, Transportation Planning Management and Labour Studies subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Accounting Education, Computer Science/Secretarial Studies, Computer Science /Business Studies, Economics/Social Studies, Economics/Political Science/Government and Financial Studies subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d)GCE ‘A’ Level with credit grades in Economics and two (2) relevant subjects such as Business Management, Geography and Government subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(e) The JUPEB/IJMBE certificate with appropriate credit points in Economics and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Business Management, Geography and Government subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

3 B.Sc. Economics 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with  credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two (2)subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
    2 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines such as Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management, Cooperative Economics and Management, Home and Rural Economics, Insurance, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply, Statistics and Taxation subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b)National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in

Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management, Cooperative Economics and Management, Home and Rural Economics, Insurance, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply, Statistics, Computer Science and Taxation subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least merit grades in Economics and Business Education, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) GCE ‘A’ Level with credit grades in Economics and two (2) relevant subjects such as Business Management, Mathematics and Government/History subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) JUPEB/IJMBE certificate with appropriate credit points in Economics and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Government/ History and Mathematics  subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(e) ICAN Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS III) subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

(c) Full Professional qualifications in Associate of Institute of Bankers (ACIB) issued by Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria(CIBN), Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) issued by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria(ICAN), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants(ACCA)  and Associate Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers(ACIS) subject to satisfaction of O’ Level requirements.
4 B.Sc.  Public Administration 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Government plus any other two (2)subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
    2 (a)Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines such as Business Administration, Economics, Industrial and Labour Relations/Labour Studies, Political Science, Mass Communication, Psychology, Social work, Sociology, and any course in the Arts, Sciences, Engineering excluding holders of degrees in Public Administration subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant disciplines such as Business Administration, Industrial and Labour Relations/Labour Studies, Local Government Studies, Office Technology and Management, Political Science, Mass Communication, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work/Social Development and Secretarial Studies subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c)  The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least merit grades in Political Science, Social Studies, Economics, Business Studies/Education and other related courses subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) G. C. E. ‘A’ Level with credit grades in Government/History and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Economics, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Religious Knowledge (CRS/IRK) subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) JUPEB/IJMBE certificate with appropriate credit points in Government/ History and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Economics, Christian Religious Studies Islamic Religious Knowledge (CRS/IRK) subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

(e) ICAN ATS III subject to satisfaction of O’ Level requirements.

 
  3 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with good honours degrees in relevant disciplines such as Business Administration, Economics, Mass Communication, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology and any course in the Arts, Sciences, Engineering excluding holders of degrees in Public Administration subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) The Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower credit in Business Administration, Industrial and Labour Relations/Labour Studies, Local Government Studies, Mass Communication, Office Technology and Management, Political Science, Public Administration, Psychology, Social Work/Social Development, Sociology and Secretarial Studies subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

5 B.Sc. Education Biology 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and either of Physics or Agricultural Science, Integrated Science and Fisheries/Animal Husbandry at not more than two (2) sittings.

 

 
    2 (a)Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Biology subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least merit grades in Biology and other science subjects such as; physics/chemistry/biology/mathematics

NCE in Integrated Science, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) GCE ‘A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in two (2) relevant subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science etc. Subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

OND/HND in Laboratory Technology

 

() The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) / The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) certificate with at least credit grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.
3 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with good honours degrees in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Biology subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower credit in relevant fields subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 
6 B.Sc. Education Business Studies 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) subjects from Arts or Social Sciences, Data Processing/Office Practice, Financial Accounting at not more than two (2) sittings.

(b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least merit level pass in Business Education (Double Major), Merit passes in two relevant subjects such as Financial Accounting, Office Management, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Insurance, etc.; subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) GCE ‘A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in two (2) relevant subjects subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) / The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) subjects including Economics and any two (2) of Accounting, Geography, Government, Business Management, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements. etc.

7. B.Sc. Education Chemistry 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two of Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science, Integrated Science and Fisheries/Animal Husbandry at not more than two (2) sittings.
 

 

   2 (a)  Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Chemistry subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least Merit grades in Chemistry and any other science subject such as; physics/chemistry/biology/mathematics

NCE in Integrated Science, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields such as; physics/chemistry/biology

Laboratory Technology etc. subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) GCE ‘A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in two (2) relevant subjects Chemistry, Biology etc. subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB)  /The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) subjects including Chemistry, Physics and Biology, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.
3 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with good honours degrees in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Chemistry subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower credit in relevant fields subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.
8. B.Sc. Early Childhood Education 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

(e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB)/The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE)  certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) subjects in Arts, Sciences or Social Sciences except Commerce, Typing and Shorthand subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

9. B.A. Education English 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits five (5) subjects including English Language,  Mathematics, Literature-in-English and any two (2) of History/Government, any Nigerian Language, Economics/Commerce, Geography, French/Arabic, CRS/IRS, Civic Education at not more than two (2) sittings.
10 B.Sc. Education Economics 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Geography, History/Government, Literature-in-English, Financial accounting and Civic Education/Social Studies at not more than two (2) sittings.
11 B.Sc. Education Mathematics 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and any two (3) of Physics, Chemistry or Biology, Agricultural Science or Further Mathematics and Computer Studies/Data Processing at not more than two (2) sittings
2 (a)  Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Mathematics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least Merit grades in Mathematics and one (1) other Science subject, such as   Chemistry/Biology/Physics/Agric to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields such as; Introductory technology/computer Science/Computer engineering/ Technology/Computer Science/Mechanical Engineering/Technical Education; subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) GCE A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in two (2) relevant subjects such as Mathematics, Physics etc. subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB)/The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE)  certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) relevant subjects in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.
3 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with good honours degrees in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Mathematics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower credit in relevant disciplines such as ;  Introductory technology/computer Science/Computer engineering/ Technology/Computer Science/Computer Engineering /Mechanical Engineering/Technical education  subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.
12 B.Sc. Education Physics 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics,    Physics, Chemistry and any one (1) of Biology, Further Mathematics, Integrated Science, Computer Science/Data Processing or Agricultural Science at not more than two (2) sittings.
2 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Physics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least Merit grades in Physics and one (1) of Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant disciplines such as; Introductory technology/computer Science/Computer engineering/ Technology/Computer Science/Computer Engineering /Mechanical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Technical Education subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(d) GCE ’A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in and Physics and Mathematics, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB)/The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE)  certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) subjects: Physics, Chemistry and any one (1) of Biology or Mathematics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.
3 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with honours degrees in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Physics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

(b) Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower credit in relevant disciplines such as ; Introductory technology/computer Science/Computer engineering/ Technology/Computer Science/Computer Engineering /Mechanical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Technical education subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

 

4.0      GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. Application will be in two stages: Part-Time JAMB Registration and DLI UNILAG
  2. Applicants for Distance Learning Institute programme shall not be less than 16 years of age by 31st October, 2022.
  3. Offer of admission into programmes listed above is subject to available number of qualified
  1. On-line Print out ‘O’ Level Results Slips are NOT ACCEPTABLE at the point of Registration.
  2. Candidates awaiting results are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
  3. Certificates and not Statement of Result Slips are acceptable for WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO results obtained before 2019.
  4.  All completed application forms are to be submitted on or before 15th December, 2022.
  5. There will be NO UTME Examination for Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos

 

5.0          PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION 

STAGE 1:

Long on to JAMB CAP Website and Register (Part-Time)

Pay a sum of #3,500 to enable you obtain registration number

 

STAGE 2:

Step 1: Log on to UNILAG application portal http://applications.unilag.edu.ng

Step 2:  Click “Start Fresh Application”

Step 3:  Select Distance Learning Institute as application type, then supply your Surname, First Name, Middle Name, JAMB Registration Number, Mobile Number and Email Address.

Step 4:  Click the ‘’pay now’’ to pay online, the Application Fee of N17,500.00 (Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred Naira) only, OR print the payment advice with Remita Number to make payment at any Commercial Bank.

Step 5: Return to the application portal (http://applications.unilag.edu.ng) after payment, click ‘’continue application’’, input your payment reference number and your surname in lowercase as password.

Step   6: Complete all required details and upload necessary documents.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Candidates must upload the under listed documents:   

  • Testimonial (Primary or Secondary)
  • Birth Certificate/Sworn Affidavit that predates the admissions advertisement
  • ‘O’ Level Certificate/All other Qualifications
  • NYSC Certificate/NYSC Exemption Certificate (for Direct Entry candidates)
  • Marriage Certificate and Newspaper classification (Married female only)

 

Step 7:  Complete the application form, submit online and print a copy.  (Applicant is allowed to save application form and later complete the form in case certain information are not readily available).
